New machining and Spool design has further reduced weight, while an all-new hard anodized finish offers protection to a different level than ordinary reels. At it’s heart, XLA has an extremely advanced ATH™ sealed drag and bearing system. You need never worry about water, sand or dirt. Having the smoothest brake system possible is essential. It also has to work wet or dry and be precisely adjusted. XLA drag system delivers. In sizes from 4-5 up to 8-9 there is a Teflon stainless steel drag. The brake power is tuned higher to match the reel size. In sizes 9-10 and 11 the brake material is graphite to increase the power but still keep it smooth. These reels are desingned to perform at the highest level for year after year.

Lynx Saltwater Fly Reel

The intention with the new A.Jensen LYNX flyreel was to make a reel that would retain its high quality and be useable in both fresh and saltwater environments.
To achive this A.Jensen have CNC cut the reel from High Grade 6061 Aircraft Aluminium. The sheer strength of this  expensive material ensures high stability, which is one of the most important issues.
The brake is also made for the harsh saltwater environment, and therefore made of cork and stainless steel.
The surface of all parts of this reel is made to be saltwater resistant, which is why A.Jensen use stainless steel parts and screws throughout.
